Today we’re celebrating the humble business card. Yes, in this online, virtual world we thought it was about time we gave them some good press and then give you the chance to get some FREE!
We’re also featuring MOO, a great company who produce some very cool business cards in small print runs – ideal for freelancers who don’t need big packs of cards.
So why do we need business cards these days? Well, here are 5 good reasons for freelancers to have them:
1. More memorable and personal – With an interesting card you can stand out from the crowd. It’s also a more personal experience to give someone a card than a link.
2. One card rules them all – Connect your online network for people by listing all the places they can look you up online (personal website, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and so on). A business card brings them all together as a handy reference.
3. Looking professional – Having a business card as a freelancer always impresses people (so long as it looks good and has clear information). It says you have made an effort.
4. Showcase your work – You could show examples of your work on the back of cards. This reminds people of your skills and saves them having to always look you up.
5. Low cost – They don’t cost much these days and you can also buy in very small quantities. Even if you don’t think you have much need for them, they’re worth having around just in case someone asks for one.
Convinced? Read on to find out about MOO and our cards giveaway.

Who are MOO?
MOO are a printing company who print beautiful products using images you upload, or by using designs from their designer galleries. They use ‘Printfinity’ technology, which means you can have a different image on every card in a pack – great for getting creative or for using them as a showcase for your work.
Their cards are available in inexpensive small runs, which means you don’t get stuck with thousands of cards with old details or work. They can deliver globally (over 180 countries) and have an easy to use online ordering system.
What are their business cards like?
All of their cards feature high quality 4 colour digital print on both sides (at no extra charge).

There’s a choice of two styles: MOO Classic (350gsm stock, sustainably sourced and matte laminated) or MOO Green (300gsm stock, 100% recycled, recyclable and uncoated). Both are available in packs of 50 or 200, and come in a free holder.

You can upload your own images for the reverse of the cards, or use one of their flexible templates to upload your own logo and contact details. They also have ‘Ready Made’ packs – creatively designed packs you can buy ‘off the shelf’ and personalise.
Business card packs giveaway!
We have 3 packs of 50 MOO Business Cards we want to give to you (each is worth £10.99 / USD21.99 and includes shipping).

2. How many MiniCards can you fit in a MOO MiniCard frame?
3. Name one designer on MOO who has an image of a Penguin.
Easy, right? Now we want you to get creative and tell us in one sentence why some MOO cards would really help you as a freelancer.

There was not enough interest in this article so we have withdrawn the giveaway for now. It could be that business cards are not one of your priorities, or maybe we made the process a bit too complicated.
